Natural Look. In this photo you'll notice the mid-day shadows and hard light that we usually don't like to deal with. Reflectors and fill flash can be used to address this issue but in a fast-moving event situation there is not always time. Also, sometimes I like the natural look that we get by just dealing with the existing light. In this case the extreme beauty of the model shines through even the harsh lighting conditions.

RCR_4148 - Maryland Cute Beauty

For video clips see: www.washingtoncounty.com/Miss_Maryland_2010-a-1524.html

Photo info: Camera: Nikon D700; Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60); Aperture: f/2.8; Focal Length:70mm; ISO Speed: 450; tip: When shooting hand-held at slow shutter speeds do your best to hold the camera steady and take several shots. It also helps to have a professional model that can strike a pose and hold it still! The other option is to bump your ISO up so you can go with a faster shutter speed (e. g. 1/250th). The good news is many cameras have image stabilization and this helps with slower shutter speeds.
